Bentley Arnage

The Bentley Arnage receives several improvements and equipment, especially mechanical. The two available engines are now more powerful and are associated with a new automatic gearbox six speeds.

The 2007 model year Arnage will be available with engines of developments that had so far. Thus, the Arnage R and RL with 456 hp (51 hp more) and 870 Nm of torque (versus 835), the Arnage T is the engine of 507 hp (previously 457 hp) and 1,000 Nm. Less potent versions reach a maximum speed of 270 km / h, while the other 288 km / h. These engines meet the Euro 4 and the American USLEV II.

In both cases, an eight-cylinder engine in 'V' of 6753 cm ³ engine capacity, the difference in power is because the Arnage T has two turbo compressors instead of one. Regarding the Arnage T, the new has lower inertia turbochargers, which allows reaching the maximum pressure in half the time. Furthermore, the profile of the camshaft is different and the rocker rollers are new.

The engine, made of aluminum, was designed in 1959 and has since been undergoing changes as far as we know it today. Then a displacement of 6.25 liters, consumed 60 percent and its emissions were double those of today.

Bentley has replaced the automatic gearbox with a new four-speed ZF six. It has three programs running 'Drive', 'Sport' and 'semi-automatic. " The latter allows you to select gears by means of longitudinal displacement in the lever of change. Locking the torque converter acts on all gears.

Previous gearbox used independently of a central engine and the new shares the same unit (Bosch) for both mechanical elements. Also, how 'Sport' change not started the 'Sport' of the suspension, as was the case hitherto, but which can be selected independently of each other.

The traction and stability control has been revised. You now have a more progressive and allow some slipping of the wheels under acceleration with high intensity.

Bentley has not found it necessary to make changes in the appearance of the car. You just need a new finish for the grill racks and bumpers, black chrome and the Arnage T in R and RL. The amount is added back to the Bentley logo. There are new body colors.

In the interior there are new upholstery and a different steering wheel. Furthermore, it can be more regular 25 mm in both height and depth. In the table, there is a TFT screen and a control system for tire pressure.

The long version (RL) is a series of refrigerated compartment in the rear armrest and a rear chamber to facilitate maneuvers. Also available is a Bluetooth system for mobile phones.
