The Audi TT is a 2 +2 coupe is also available places cabriolet with bodywork (Roadster). The range consists of six engines, five petrol and one Diesel. There are versions with front-wheel drive or full automatic and manual (full TT Coupé).
When introduced in 2006 was available with two engines, the petrol 2.0 TFSI 200 hp and 250 hp 3.2 V6. Thereafter, in 2008, Audi added a 160 hp 1.8 TFSI, a 272 hp 2.0 TFSI (Audi TTS) and the only diesel version of TT, which has the 2.0 TDI engine from 170 hp. In 2009, the TT RS was presented, the most powerful engine with a 2.5 TFSI of 340 hp. Of the two more powerful versions discussed in other articles (information from the Audi TTS and TT RS).
We conducted all versions except the range of the TT RS, which we will shortly. I think the less powerful 1.8 TFSI, will satisfy anyone who does not seek the maximum benefits will be enough but with a reasonably fast car, as its 160 hp engine has given me the same sensation, pleasant, in other models we have conducted: it has good response, it sounds good and its consumption is content.
Who benefits attached to everything else, I recommend you choose directly from the TTS, the thrust of the 2.0 TFSI of 272 hp is great. When I try to make our measurements carefully and see if the price difference with the 200 hp TFSI compensates.
The diesel version has surprised me, for good, by the response of the engine. It is much smoother, gradual and silent as the previous 170 hp TDI injection pump injector (the TT was the first model of the Volkswagen Group to use this variant of the engine with the injection system through common). Sale gear with strength from about 1,500 rpm and reaches the maximum speed quickly. According to our measurements accelerate more than a Mercedes-Benz SLK 200K (184 hp) or a Mazda RX-8 (193 hp) and recovered better than petrol supercharged models more powerful as a Volkwagen EOS 2.0 TSI or an Opel Astra GTC 2.0 T (both with 200 hp). None of the measurements is at TT 2.0 TFSI 200 hp.
It costs € 38,800, about € 7400 more than the 1.8 TFSI. Although this difference in price is included the total drive system, standard on the Diesel, not available in the petrol, the fact is that the difference in consumption is not justified in any event the acquisition of the TDI.
The 2.0 TFSI 200 hp is a good option for those who need to change the automatic transmission (S tronic, not available in the 1.8 TFSI) or the total drive system (quattro). However, I need this capability because they often traveled on snow, you can invest a portion of the price difference there is between the two to acquire a set of winter tires and rims.
Traction increases the total capacity of traction, so the car is more capable of dealing with a ramp and accelerates before bend, but does not increase the maximum speed of passage through and improve the braking curve (inertia affects equally regardless of drive system). Winter tires, however, they give more grip in cornering and braking, in addition to traction (on ice or snow).
Between TT 2.0 TFSI 200 hp and 250 hp 3.2, we find it more advisable to first. It costs less, use less fuel, has a similar stability, and according to our measurements, accelerates slightly. As fast as it has been the unit we tested the 2.0 TFSI, it might not happen the same with other units of this model.
Versions of the TT 200, 250 and 272 hp can have a manual or an automatic type DSG (Audi calls it 'S tronic), both with six speeds. For the TT Coupé 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TDI 170 hp is not available the automatic gearshift.
The manual gearshift is fast enough and the gears come without effort. Despite this, we recommend testing the automatic 'S tronic. During normal driving is much more convenient than the manual in a sport, using the mode 'sport' of change, is not much worse than a good driver and at least as good as most.
With the suspension series, the Audi TT Coupe is stable, easy to drive and has a normal level of adhesion. When driving fast on roads slow, we did not find much difference between the gasoline versions from 200 to 250 hp.
Optionally you can have a variable called suspension hardness Audi Magnetic Ride. The cushions have a fluid-sensitive magnetic field, thus applying an electric current, viscosity can be varied and therefore the response of amortigudor up to 1,000 times per second (video on the operation of the Magnetic Ride, 2:05 s)
The TT is a car dynamically satisfactory balance between comfort and agility. What we do not have the Audi TT is that they feel sports are, for example, a Mazda MX-5 or a Porsche Cayman (although these are more cumbersome). An Audi S3 can also be recommended that a TT for those who want a sporty touch.
The Audi TT is a 2 +2 coupe seats. The rear two are practically useless, except for some small children or objects that can be more comfortable leaving it there in the trunk, like the coat. The trunk is adequate.
Some of the items of equipment that is standard on the TT front airbags, front side and head, the stability control and traction, air conditioning, alarm, computer and sports suspension. Version 3.2 quattro has, in addition to the above, xenon headlamps and dual drive system total.
Optionally you can add lighting in turn, the parking aid (front and rear), leather upholstery, electric seat adjustment, two types of browsers (one black and one in color), Bluetooth connectivity for your phone or the package S-Line, which alters the exterior appearance and interior (pictures).
What you can not wear a boot or system, keyless entry, automatic or limpiaparabrias connection. The parking brake is on hand, no electric
