BMW 6 Series

The cabriolet version of the M6, like the rest of the 6 Series convertible has a folding canvas roof and a moon. The M6 convertible is 127,500 € 9,500 more than the M6 coupe (comparative form of price and equipment).

In the M6 convertible, with the reinforcements they need the chassis and mechanism of the hood, to gain weight 2005 kg (220 kg). The difference in weight is greater than that between a 630i coupe and cabrio (195 kg).

Not much weight in relative terms, considering that this is a four-seat cabriolet with V10 engine. Mercedes-Benz SL 600, which is a two-seater, smaller, has V12 engine and rigid folding roof, weighs 2045 kg.

The relationship between weight and power of the M6 convertible, which has the same 507 hp engine the coupe is 3.9 kg / hp to 3.5 in the coupe. The resulting loss of benefits and increased consumption is not large (comparative tab).

The aerodynamic resistance factor increases from 0.69 to 0.73 m (less than six per cent).

While in relative terms the numbers are not bad M6, a car that runs it is a sport from two tons.

The M6 coupe, unlike other BMW M has a brake capable of withstanding harsh treatment (but not any hard treatment). M6 Cabrio discs have the same diameter of the coupe and the BMW has given information that does not appear that there are other differences. Be seen whether the strength of the M6 convertible is the same as the coupe, the braking capacity need not be lower due to weight gain.

The M6 coupe is relatively nimble for a car its size. It is more than a Mercedes-Benz CL, and less than a Porsche 911. The situation may be more demanding for the M6 on a road where speed is needed are the changes in support. Hence, although the car has an amazing ability to track the steering wheel is where you see more clearly that it lacks the agility of cars smaller and lighter, like a 911.
