Alfa Romeo Brera

Alfa Romeo Brera. Modelo 2006.Alfa Romeo Brera, a coupe of 4413 mm in length with tailgate, have new developments in equipment and in the range of engines to 2009. Designed by Giugiaro and based on the prototype of the same name that Alfa Romeo in 2002 (more information), the Brera GTV replaced.

In mid 2009, the 2.2 JTS engine of 185 hp will be replaced by the new 1750 TBI 200 hp, which also carry the 159 and the Spider, the convertible version of the Brera. The range is completed with the 3.2 V6 engine and 260 HP 2.4 JTD 200 hp, which remain unchanged. The two versions may have traction total (Q4).

The gearbox can be manual or six-speed automatic, two types (two of six relationships). One has the structure of a manual with the automatic selection of gears and the clutch (Selespeed) and the other is a planetary gearbox and hydraulic torque converter ( 'Q-Tronic).

Alfa Romeo Brera. 2006.Con the new engine model BIT 1750, the Brera has better performance than the 2.2 JTS. Thus, the maximum speed is 11 km / h higher (235 km / h compared to 224 km / h) and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is lower (7.7 s versus 8.6 s).

Despite the difference in power (15 hp), consumption and hence CO2 emissions are significantly better (8.1 l/100 km and 189 g / km of CO2 by 9.1 l/100 TBI km and 214 g / km of CO2 JTS).

Besides the new engine, the range of the Brera 2009 will be more extensive version special thanks to the IT (International Tourism), the more equipped. The suspension (10mm lower), the alloy wheels (19''and design similar to the 8C Competizione) and Brembo front brake calipers with aluminum red lacquered distinguish this version.

In the interior are different leather seats (with seams and metal plate with the TI logo) and the steering wheel and gear lever in perforated leather. Also change the instrumentation (white light) and pedals (aluminum slip). Optionally, the center console and the central part of the steering wheel may be carbon fiber.

All Brera have darkened the glass ceiling (picture). In some versions the glass ceiling is only an embellishment of the body because, internally, the roof is completely upholstered and has no curtain. Versions' SkyView 'is distinguishable because it has a sliding curtain. In this case the ceiling amounts to a large solar fixed.

The Brera is approved for four seats. The two rear seats were inadequate for adults or older children too, because there is not enough space and longitudinal headroom to the roof. In addition, support for these places is almost vertical. For the amplitude Brera is not very different from GTV, Alfa said that it has a spacious four-coupe, the GT.

The bench is placed too high for being a coupe, at least in the version of power seats. Going high and has the disadvantage that people who measured more than 1.80 m are very close to the roof, especially if they bear little support trend. The pedals are well placed and the wheel has extensive regulations for height and depth. The seats come with an electric power control that automatically slows down and forward to facilitate access to rear seats.

The design of the dashboard of the Brera and the type of material it covers is almost like the 159. Yes the design is different from inside the doors. Optionally, the dashboard and door panels can be upholstered in leather.

The seats can be of two types: those who have tested and optional sports. In both types of seats, the headrest is part of the back (no possibility of regulation). The filling of the seat number is rather soft, but gives a lateral enough.

Access to the boot is done through a gate. The boot has 300 liter capacity and a highly usable forms. The only drawback is that it has the edge load is very high and it is therefore inappropriate to load heavy objects. Below the bottom of the trunk there are several deep holes in some of them are housed in the repair of punctures. The seats are folding rear seats. If you depress the amount of load increases considerably.

The Brera has good touch and, for those who appreciate a car, could be very pleasant to drive on road curves, at least in good condition (we have not tested on bumpy roads). I have found an extreme sport because it is not as fast reactions, such as a Porsche Cayman. Curve is less flexible than a Mazda RX-8.
