Kia Sorento

It is a suitable terrain for anyone thought to give a relatively intense use in the field and do not want to give up some comfort and safety for road travel. Is only available with a diesel engine of 170 hp.

Of SUVs currently on sale and more or less average fulfills the above assumptions, there is none cheaper.

If we search the database km77.com SUVs between 4.5 and 4.8 m in length with diesel engine over 160 hp and permanent four wheel drive, you can see that the Sorento is by far the least expensive (list sorted by price). It is on sale from 27,613 € (all prices on the KIA Sorento).

KIA Opirus

KIA Carnival

KIA Soul

Inside

The seats are placed in an elevated position, including the driver, adjustable height in its lowest position. The rear bench is not sliding as in other models, which diminishes functionality. Like the Rio, the steering wheel has height adjustment only, not deep. In the Hyundai i20, in contrast, can perform both types of adjustment.

The interior space of the Soul is not well spent compared to a Skoda Roomster (10 cm longer), an Opel Meriva and Nissan Note. In the rear seats is seven inches wider than the Note, one wider than the Meriva and seven narrower than the Roomster.

There is therefore a car width in absolute terms, but is two cm wider than, say, a Seat Altea, which measures about 20 centimeters longer. The available height is not a problem in any of the seats.

Versions 'Active' does not have a very low rate price, for example, an Active Fiat Bravo 1.9 M-Jet 120 bhp or a Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Trend limousine are slightly cheaper than a Kia cee'd 1.6 CRDi 115 hp.

However, to match the equipment, the KIA is a much more advantageous because air conditioning is standard, stability control, alloy wheels, four electric windows, electric mirrors, disc charger, a USB connection for external audio players and six airbags.

The level of equipment 'Emotion' is available only in association with diesel engines of 115 and 140 hp. On the "Active", has leather upholstery and leather rear sensor parking aid, navigator, 17-inch wheels and a sport suspension (harder).

Diesel versions of 115 and 140 hp with the equipment "Emotion" are practically the same price, to finish equal, some differences of equipment: the 140 hp is not browser, but CD charger and speed control cruise.

KIA cee'd may not result in any xenon headlights, Bluetooth phone connection, or access system and keyless start.

The version of the cee'd CRDi Diesel engine spends just 1.6 115 bhp (although not the cheapest of consumption), gives good performance for power and, moreover, is smooth and quiet to moderate speed. We tested the cee `d and the Hyundai i30, both the diesel engine of 115 hp (test model) and dynamically more we liked it because it has better touch KIA (KIA suspension is less soft) and the wheels provide more grip .

The petrol variant 1.6 liter 122 HP Diesel spends more than 115 hp, but its consumption is content to be a gasoline engine. With respect to diesel, the petrol is more pleasant to travel on city and surrounding area until a normal speed, if we did not do many miles a year, gasoline is the most interesting because its price is € 1,600 less.

For fast road travel a lot for the 115 hp diesel is more satisfying than the 122 bhp petrol because it is less noisy at high speed. However, in both cases (especially in the petrol 122 hp) is missing a sixth gear for relief. The only cee'd with six-speed diesel is 140 hp.

KIA cee'd expects to sell 100,000 in 2007 in Europe, 10,000 of them in Spain. Of those 10,000, 70 per cent will be diesel (most with 115 hp engine) and the rest of gasoline.

Hyundai has a model mechanically the same as Kia cee'd, called the i30. The "i30" will have five variants: three doors, five doors (already on sale), family, convertible and all-terrain light.

KIA Rio

In July 2005 Kia Rio will start selling the body with four or five doors, two trim levels possible (called EX1 and EX2) and three engines, two petrol and one diesel. Not available for any combination of body, equipment and motor.

The most affordable is the Rio 1.4 EX1 5p, which costs € 11,350, the most expensive, the Rio 1.5 CRDi EX2 4p, costs 15.450 €. The price of the four-door version is € 100 higher than the equivalent of five (table of all versions available and its price). The relationship between size, equipment and price is good (comparison chart of price and equipment).

It's a completely different model to the current largest in its internal dimensions, in battle and on the tracks. The five-door version is shorter than the last, 3,990 mm versus 4240 mm, the four measures 4240 mm long. The battle (2,499 mm), width (1,694 mm) and height (1,470 mm) are older (before 2409, 1,679 and 1,430 mm) than before, the most remarkable fact is the height, higher than other cars of this type.

I've been driving for a few miles versions with 1.6-liter gasoline engine of 112 hp and 110 hp diesel. The two move with sufficient ease the car, at least two occupants and a couple of suitcases inside (weighing 1079 and 1,146 kg respectively).

The gasoline engine is much quieter and smoother at low speeds the diesel but from 4,000 rpm, it becomes noisy. The Diesel is backwards, as speed increases the rolling and aerodynamic noise are predominant. The gearshift has some long runs, especially the fifth, but it is handled with ease. The suspension is rather hard but not always contains the body movements, both pitch and roll.

The feel of the direction I did not like. After a certain speed is very sensitive and need to make small corrections to maintain the trajectory. Moreover, if we are with the car backed into a corner and went through a pothole, the wheel is transmitted to a thud.

The brake pedal feel I have found good and hard braking at high speed does not deviate from the path. I could not test the resistance of the brakes after intensive use.

The interior is spacious for four occupants given the exterior dimensions of the car. The trunk of the hatchback version has a volume of 270 l, which is closer to that of a Seat Ibiza (267 l) than that of a Seat Leon (341 l).

Measures 99 cm wide and 67 long, the loading lip is 63 cm from the ground is lit and the ends are four metal rings. The spare wheel is mounted under the trunk floor and is the same size as the rest. The four-door version has a higher capacity (390 l).

The front seats have a hard filler, both in area and in the back seat, and can be somewhat annoying if you sit too long. The driver's height adjustable. The support of the hindquarters can be placed with two possible inclinations.

The steering wheel has vertical adjustment but not longitudinal. When the seat is in a position tories is somewhat remote and under.

The plastics used are simple and everyone has a hard touch. The adjustments between pieces are correct, I have not seen any major failure in this aspect.

Details have not common in cars of this size and price, such as upholstery of the door panels or the use of two light fixtures on the ceiling. The sun visors have mirrors in lid, and the driver is lit.

Almost all switches are easy to locate and use except for stability control that is in the bottom of the center console behind the gap there to deposit items. Apart from this, it can leave the bags rigid objects in the four doors, a hole is beneath the radio, another on the bottom left of the dashboard or glove compartment. The latter has no system to halt the opening of the lid and flung open. The roof itself handles set out progressively. There is a sunglasses holder in the roof and three cup holders in the extension of the console, one larger than the other two.

EX1 The level of equipment includes ABS, electronic distributor of Frenda and six airbags (front, side and front of head), power steering, central locking with remote and alarm, four electric windows and mirrors. The air conditioning is optional (960 €).

EX2 The level also has fog, computer, climate control, rear spoiler, steering wheel and leather gear knob and rims of 15 ". The stability control is an option only available with the 1.6 liter gasoline engine.

The new KIA Rio Sohari is manufactured in South Korea. Since October, the KIA Picanto may carry a 1.3-liter diesel engine 75 hp; at year end or early 2006, will release the new Kia Magentis (submitted to the next room Frankfurt) that will also have diesel engine.

KIA Picanto

The 2008 range of KIA Picanto has changes in appearance, equipment and supply of engines.

The most important equipment change is that the petrol engined version with more expensive equipment "Emotion" may have stability control, yet is still lacking that the cheaper versions and the diesel, to have this element. Another improvement is that the current Picanto has a new integrated radio much easier to handle than the previous model.

The engine range is composed of one petrol 1.1 liter 65 hp or a 1.1 liter diesel 75 hp. The spiciness of the new range and is not available with the 60 hp gasoline engine: partly because of this, the Picanto Gasoline is no longer the cheapest utility there.

From the standpoint of price, relative to the competition, the Picanto Diesel (from 9731 €) comes out better off than the petrol (from € 8871). There is no diesel car at a price similar to the Picanto that is so powerful (75 hp) that has more power the cars are larger and more expensive.

Picanto In the case of gasoline, if the main criterion for choosing is that the price is as low as possible, there are other alternatives: the most basic versions of the Fiat Panda, the Chevrolet Matiz, Citroen C1 3p of the Renault Twingo , is below € 8,000 (the Panda costs just over 7,000).

However, some of them have no power steering (the Panda and Twingo) and others have a three-door body, which can be inconvenient for some people (the Twingo and C2). The Chevrolet Matiz it meets these two requirements, but not at the level of a Picanto in different variables. The Panda 1.2, in addition to cost less than the Picanto, may have more equipment. In fact, no other utility that can be price stability control, browser, Bluetooth, six airbags and air conditioning. The Panda is not better than the Picanto in road, stability or performance.

Among the smaller cars with gasoline engine, five doors and steering, the Picanto it is the cheapest. Paying the costs a little more than Picanto Toyota Aygo about 5p or 5p a Citroen C1 with power steering, can compensate for the Picanto suspension is more comfortable and has a better driving position. The advantage that the small cars from Toyota, Peugeot and Citroën (Aygo, C1 and 107 respectively) with petrol engine 68 hp, is that they are faster than the Picanto to 65 hp, and its consumption is lower.

If no value is given to the fact that it has five doors, cars are larger than the Picanto which may be preferable and cost a similar amount of money, as the Citroen C2 1.1 Furio and Twingo 1.2 Authentique (both with 60 HP) . The larger size of their body to that of the Picanto is noticed mainly in the trunk size.

For use by city and surroundings, the Picanto with petrol engine gives better results than the Diesel. The Picanto Petrol is much more pleasant to drive because it has a more rapid, requires less space to rotate, the engine has a better response (the Picanto Diesel engine is a little lazy in town), and the suspension is a better fit (s more comfortable and stable). However, the Picanto Diesel of the new range is softer and vibrates less than the model launched in 2005.

Diesel can agree whether to use a lot of road-that's where you can take advantage of their greater power, and whether to make the mileage necessary to compensate economically compared to gasoline.

The gasoline Picanto (1.1 to 65 hp) is strong enough to travel by road easy to legal speeds. If there is long and steep slopes have to go down a gear to avoid losing much speed. If you have to overtake on a dual carriageway in the Picanto cars passed as in other less powerful: there is much difference between doing well or doing poorly. Doing well on the way out is to give more acceleration where (if a vehicle ahead of you at 80 km / h must be done through third) and start accelerating a few seconds before changing lanes to pass another vehicle.

The consumption that we found with gasoline Picanto traveling all types of roads at speeds close to the statutory maximum has been 6.2 l/100 km. He spent the same city and doing some ring to a big city at an easy pace.

Traveling highway at a rate slightly higher (120 km / h) spent about 7.0 l/100 km, which, though not much compared some other similar car (a Panda 1.2 60 HP does not spend less and is slower ), for a purpose and is not a particularly low cost per kilometer.

The new Picanto, changes have affected the body length, which is 40 mm longer (up to 3535 mm). Compared to the previous model, the wheelbase remains the same, but the length of the overhang is greater.

Now the range has electric power steering (just before the Diesel). This element contributes to consumption in the petrol versions is lower, as the Picanto does not pay registration tax in any of its versions.


The suspension is the same as in the previous range, but has some slightly different settings.
