Citroën C4 Sedán

Is now available with the option of four-door body of the Citroën C4. In this way, the C4 range is composed of five different versions: three and five doors, four doors (Sedan) and van (Picasso, five and seven seats).

C4 of the four doors can be purchased from € 15,150 (all prices) with two engines, one petrol and one Diesel-109 HP. In equal equipment, diesel-engined version is 2090 € more expensive than petrol (comparative). Diesel only versions can have stability control (ESP). The range of engines is much lower than in the rest of the range C4.

Respect to C4 five-door is € 2,000 more expensive, for the same engine and equipment. Other models like the diesel version has a cheaper price with equipment similar to a Renault Megane and a Ford Focus (comparative). An Opel Astra, a Mazda3 and Volkswagen Jetta are more boxes (comparative).

With two engines, the supply and consumption of Sedan are worse than the equivalent five-door version (comparative). The two motors have four-cylinder, 1.6 liter displacement and 109 hp of maximum power, the diesel is turbocharged and has particulate filter (FAP). The gas is air.

Like other versions of the C4 sedan is comfortable and has a high linear stability. However, we felt that it is less nimble and the suspension does not provide much comfort (and something that conveys more road irregularities and does not prevent the body has big movements). That is less flexible that the C4 three-door and five, may be due in part to having a wheelbase greater.

The diesel engine of 109 hp is enough to move with great agility to C4 Sedan. It has a very strong and rapid response to throttle laps since 2000, under this regime, we felt we had less power than other versions of C4 and other models that go by that motor (the Mazda3).

Although the gasoline and diesel engine available for the C4 Sedan has the same power as we have seen in other body of C4, the Diesel is clearly faster performance. It is therefore best placed to travel on roads with loads that are not easy.

A unique feature of this car is that, unlike other models of this type, the C4 Sedan is much larger than the model that follows, both in length and wheelbase.

It measures 4.79 m in length, is therefore 53 cm higher than the C4 five-door. In fact, it is even longer than the C5 (4.78 m). The wheelbase (2.71 m) is 10 cm higher than that of the three versions and five doors.

The front half of the C4 Sedan is the same as that of the five doors, including the driving seat. Like other C4, the flywheel is the central part of the wheel sets, with highly concentrated near the middle of the hands. The instrumentation is very peculiar, being divided into five zones (more information).

The Citroen C4 three-and five-door car is a very well prepared with care and auction materials look good. The Sedan is not noted for this, because its quality of finish does not convey as much strength as the other versions of the C4.

The C4 Sedan, which is manufactured in Argentina, has the same design and quality of materials compared to other equivalent C4, but the adjustment of different parts is not well managed (at least in units that have conducted tests).

For example, we have detected faults in the center console, adjusting the trim, roof and floor, in the integration of reading lights and at the bottom of the dashboard. In addition to regular lengthwise seat had to exert much force, and that was very hard.

There are many compartments to store or leave things scattered around the interior pockets in the double front doors, drawers under the side vents, portagafas several compartments on the dashboard and center console, hook for hanging bags (in a lateral of the center console) and a number of coasters.

The interior of the C4 gives feeling of space. Has a carrier with more legroom and head, and slightly less wide, the five-door versions. Compared with other similar models (comparative), has more height than normal, the same legroom than the average and is slightly behind in width.

The front seats and rear side walls are comfortable and grip well. In the rear seats, it is not advisable to travel three people missing and width, the center seat is uncomfortable (the back is very hard) and the central tunnel requires separate long legs.

Rear occupants have pockets in the doors, center armrest with cupholders and compartments in the interior outlet and an outlet vent with a separate motor.

The C4 Sedan trunk measured volume of 513 l (with the VDA method). Among the four-door car similar to the C4, only the largest trunk of the Ford Focus Sedan (537 l), the Volkswagen Jetta (527 l) and the Renault Megane Sedan (520 l).

The trunk has a lot depth (1.20 m) and is fairly wide (1.03 m between wheel arches). The floor is well below the edge of loading (image). Has a series split folding rear seat in two, with proportions of one third and two thirds. There is a hook for hanging bags and several recordings for placing a network.

You can choose three levels of equipment: "LX Plus', 'Collection' and 'Exclusive'. All C4 Sedan has six airbags as standard, developer of speed, trip computer, air conditioning, electric mirrors and radio with CD player with controls on the steering wheel.

Versions' Collection 'also carry two-zone automatic climate control, fog lamps, heated mirrors and radio compatible with MP3 discs.

The C4 Sedan luxurious ( "Exclusive") have, in addition to the above, automatic actuation of headlights and wipers, electro chromic interior mirror, electrically folding mirrors and alloy wheels 16 ".

Optionally, you can take control of stability (in the diesel versions), bixenón autodireccionales headlights, parking control and leather upholstery.

The C4 Sedan is sold some time in other markets. The models are manufactured in Spain to Palomar (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
