Caterham R300

Caterham Seven range is made up of four different models: "Classic", "Roadsport ',' Roadsport SV '(with a larger carrier) and' Superlight '. The latter is based on the 'Roadsport', and its main modifications are intended to reduce weight and enhance their athleticism.

Within the range 'Superlight' there are three variants: the R400 (200 HP), the R500 (230 hp) and R300, we show in this article.

The Superlight R300 version is less powerful (and cheaper) of "Superlight". Like all 'Superlight' and some 'Roadsport', is a motor home called MG Rover MG X-Power, 1.8 liters of displacement, depending on the specifications, given different powers.

In the case of the R300, this engine gives maximum power of 160 hp at 7000 rpm and 174 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. Given its light weight, only 575 kg, less than 50 'Roadsport' - have a weight power ratio of 3.6 kg / hp, a figure that enables excellent and R300 up to speed 60 miles per hour (97 km / h ) in just 4.7 seconds (a Porsche GT 2 is a relationship between weight and more power: 3.27 kg / hp). Reaches 210 km / h maximum speed.

The series' Superlight ', including the R300, differ from the rest because they are lighter and more details of manufactured equipment and dashboard with carbon fiber belt type harness with four anchor points, Baquet-type seats, manual gearbox six-speed front brake discs and ventilated.

Has, however, self, which is standard on the R400 and R500 versions. The R300 has alloy wheels as standard 15-inch diameter
