Chevrolet Cruze

The Chevrolet Cruze is a brand new vehicle and higher quality than the Nubira, the model it replaces.

It measures 4.57 m, therefore, has a size of a Volkswagen Jetta, Skoda Octavia or a Mitsubishi Lancer. For now, only sold with four-door body. Body variant of families arrived in 2010.

The range of the Chevrolet Cruze engine is composed of two versions of petrol (113 and 141 hp) and a Diesel, 150 hp. In June will be sold a diesel version of 125 hp. All have a manual gearbox five gears, the 141 hp is the only one who can have an automatic (six-speed).

The price for the Chevrolet Cruze is € 13,900 (with a petrol engine and 113 hp). This version (equipped with "L") has a very low price but it is interesting because it lacks air conditioning and other details of equipment, such as height and depth adjustment for the steering wheel. The Chevrolet Cruze gasoline and 113 hp have these two elements (plus) costs € 15,300. The Fiat Linea 1.4 16v T-Jet 120 hp is almost equivalent to price if you add the option of stability control (standard on all Cruze). The Renault Megane Sedan 1.6 16v is a bit more expensive. The Fiat is significantly faster than the Renault and the Chevrolet (comparative tab).

Chevrolet Cruze. 2009La variant model with 125 hp diesel engine will be very interesting for its price. Will be on sale from € 16,600. There are currently no similar vehicle with a similar price, the Toyota Corolla Sedan 2.0 D-4D Sedan and the Ford Focus Trend 1.8 TDCi 115 hp are between 1,200 and 1,500 € more expensive.

Its driving position is good, especially because it has a very comfortable front seats that hold the body properly. The steering wheel and seats are wide regulations, which allows people of different complexion are comfortable.

The interior is not particularly large for its size, but there is room enough for four adults and is better utilized than other vehicles (eg, an Opel Insignia has a body much larger than the Cruze and its interior is more spacious) .

The Chevrolet Cruze also makes good sense for the setting of most of the pieces of the interior, at least those who are most exposed. It has no sophisticated or expensive materials (eg, a Skoda Octavia leave more impressed at the sight and touch), but the joints between the various components and finishes convey strength.

Chevrolet Cruze. Model 2009La console saves resemblance to that of an Opel Insignia, and some of their controls are identical. Chevrolet says in its communique that the dashboard of the Cruze shows some design details similar to those faced in the Corvette.

While leaving the general feeling is good, you have certain areas for improvement (for example, this tube cables are very light or pástico that the console has a tendency to scratch). It also has a certain lack of equipment: no light in the mirrors of courtesy, no handholds on the roof have a system that slows your movement when you drop suddenly and need a shooter on the inside of the lid of the trunk (which is closed by pushing by hand).

Some impressions of driving

For the tuning of the suspension, the Cruze seems superior to any other tourism Chevrolet currently sells in Spain. It's nice to drive, comfortable and precise reactions. For these features, I feel that Chevrolet has not only tried to make a cheap car, but has also given importance to other needs.

I currently only conducted with 17 wheels and tires Khumo Solus KH17 measures 215/50 (the wheels that are larger than can the others are around 205/60 R16) and on wet asphalt. Under these conditions I saw the poor adhesion, perhaps with other wheels better the outcome is very different.

Chevrolet Cruze. 2009La version more interesting model for consumption has the diesel engine 150 hp. According to official data spends 5.6 / 100 km, which is little (comparative list sorted by consumption of the Cross with some competitors). This engine is similar to that carried in the Epica.

The Cruze engine is this a more pleasant road in town. In-town or when accelerating hard from low speed, has the drawback that it is noisy and lacks strength to leave standing, especially if the maneuver begins in a ramp. Road is functioning properly, but its acceleration capacity is not all that intense can expect from a 150 hp turbodiesel saloon.
