Chevrolet Camaro

Begin to build the Chevrolet Camaro in early 2009, although the first units will not reach Spain until the first quarter of 2010.

It was originally sold with coupe body, with two doors and four seats. Later there will be a convertible.

Has a length of 4836 mm and is thus slightly higher than cars like the Peugeot 407 Coupe or BMW 6 Series. Chevrolet says in its communique that the Nissan 350Z is a match for the Camaro. So are the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger models that are not sold in Europe.

At least in the U.S., the Camaro will be available with two petrol engines atmospheric (without turbo). D be a 3.6-liter V6 and a V8 engine capacity of 6.2 liters, with 300 power and 420 respectively. Most likely to reach Europe only V6. These engines are not the Camaro debuts, but they are already available (though not necessarily with the same power) in other models of GM (more information).

The gearbox may be automatic or manual, at least six speeds. The Chevrolet Camaro has traction to the rear wheels.

The suspension is independent in the two axes. In rear axle carries a deformable parallelogram (image). There will be two different settings of the suspensions, one for the versions with six-cylinder engine and one for eight.

As standard equipment of lead stability control (Chevrolet calls it "StabiliTrack). The V8 version bears and brakes made by Brembo four-piston grippers have wheels and 20 "in diameter. The V6 wheels carry 18 or 19 inches.

Some of the items of equipment associated with the comfort that may have the Camaro include: connection 'Bluetooth' for the phone, xenon headlights, a sound system of high fidelity, six airbags and a system of parking assisted by acoustic signals. You may also have a system for contacting a support center in case of emergency ( "OnStar"). This system is used by some models of Opel.

In the console there are a number of indicators of the temperature of the oil (engine and transmission), water and battery image. The interior is decorated and illuminated with LEDs.

Chevrolet had the most definitive aspect of this car in the prototype Camaro Convertible Concept, cabriolet body.

The new Camaro looks like the stores first original Chevrolet Camaro, 1967. The design aspects that are Chevrolet emphasizes its long bonnet, boot lid, a short and very few prominent wheel arches.

The design of the Camaro has been conducted in Northern America and the technical development was carried out by the team that specializes in GM vehicles back in Australia. Will be manufactured in GM's plant in Oshawa (Canada).
